First Stitches

Caleb's perfect, flawless face is no more. Sunday he was running through my mom's living room and slipped on a piece of paper and went head first into the coffee table. I was outside. He came out sobbing with a gash in his forehead. So we headed off to the doctor's office in St. George to get it stitched up. There is an InstaCare in Hurricane, but it's not open on Sundays. Don't even get me started. The kids' pediatricians office is open seven nights a week, walk in from 6-10 p.m. It has come in handy for us many times. When we got there they taped a cotton ball with numbing cream on it right away to get it ready for the stitches. Caleb was surprisingly fine. He can be a little dramatic and hysterical at times, so it was nice that he was so calm and happy. When the cream had had time to numb the wound we went back to a room. They laid him on the table and put the drape over his face and held him down. He became a little hysterical at that point. He kept screaming, "Let me doe, just let me doe!" I had to stand outside the room. It was a little too much for me to watch. He only needed four stitches, so it wasn't a major deal. We went back to my mom's to collect the other kiddos and the girls had wrapped all kinds of presents for him (lead by Sydney, all gifts came out of Grandma's playroom). It was very sweet and Caleb loved it. That night I gave him some Ibuprofen and put him to bed. He slept fine all night and woke up Monday morning with no complaints or pain. The wound seems to be healing very well. He thinks it's cool that it looks like a football on his forehead:)

I love how these presents always seem to be recycled but the kids act like they have never seen them before. Caleb you are so brave!

What a brave little guy! Glad he seems to be recovering ok. I hate those moments when you just have to stand by and just watch them hurt! Love the get-well presents all ready for his homecoming. =)

Love the presents idea. I bet he was feeling pretty special! So, did he take the presents home or leave them at your Mom's? Funny.

That is great he is over four and is just now getting stitches!!! Kenna got stiches in the exact same spot and you can't even tell, so yay for it being in a good spot. Especially if he decides to do the Bieber hair...
