St. George Expedition Relay

Last weekend was the St. George Expedition relay race. We had a coed family team. Matt, Kaelee, Casey, Leif, me. Our team was Captain Underpants & the Wild Wedgies. We had a great time decorating our van and picking out our outfits:) And it paid off, we won the award for Best Costume. Race day was cold, but not unbearable. And not windy, thank goodness. Our team spirit was fantastic. Everyone did awesome on their legs. It was a pretty great day.

Kaelee ran the first leg. It was cold. Matt and Casey are bringing her in with the wave of the whitey tighties.

She wasn't thrilled with her time.

My first leg was 7.32 miles, pretty constant uphill and downhill. Total time 52:41, average pace 7:12. I was pretty happy with that.

Captain Underpants searched and searched for someone he could help. All day long. Wild Wedgie is putting out the vibe.

Casey was after me. He got to run past his work with all his coworkers watching. They loved seeing him in his underwear and cape. Tay came to run with him blowing a whistle and holding an umbrella. Nice.

Leif came sprinting in his second leg. Like, sprinting. It was impressive.

Finishing my second leg. 4.54 miles, total time 37:08, average pace 8:11. My first leg wiped me out a bit.

Casey's last leg. He did awesome.

Last, Matt. Final leg of the day. He was behind another coed team by 4+ minutes, but they didn't know who they were dealing with! We beat them by 3 minutes.

We thought we passed the other coed team for 2nd place, but were so surprised and excited to find out we won 1st! 1st place coed, 12th place overall. Great day.
