Lake Powell

Last weekend we went to Lake Powell with three other families to stay on our friends' houseboat. We had eight adults and ten children, all under the age of 6. Yes, we were very brave. Surprisingly, all the kids did really well. It was a pretty low-key and enjoyable weekend. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. The food was great, the company was great, all in all it was a fantastic trip. We did have a few stumbling blocks (what's a trip without stumbling blocks?): the generator didn't work for a day (aka it was out of gas, but the guys spent a few hours trying to "fix" it before they figured that out); the people who used the houseboat the week before didn't empty the septic tanks, so we had to stop using the toilets, and start washing dishes in the lake (hmm, maybe that was the reason for my severely upset stomach on the last day....); and the ski boat kept overheating, so we only got to tube and surf for a minute the whole trip. It all turned out fine, the kids loved playing on the beach and swimming in the water, going down the slide, playing on the tubes, roasting smores, going fishing, and eating A LOT of junk. Here are some (lots) of pictures, in no particular order:
